General Questions

Can I transfer my Rx to Islington Medical Pharmacy?

Yes, you can transfer your prescription to Islington Medical Pharmacy, and it has never been easier to do so. We’ll quickly and seamlessly have your Rx transferred over so that you can immediately start using our online Rx Refill service, making refills easier than ever.

How can I renew my prescription?

For a prescription renewal, you can speak to our pharmacist, however it will most likely be necessary to go back to your family doctor in order to confirm whether a change is needed, or if you need to continue taking the medication at all. It’s important to check in with your doctor to track your progress and adjust where necessary.

Do you provide anything outside of Rx-related services?

Yes, we provide many other services outside of those which are Rx-Related. With our staff having many years of combined experience and expertise, we can help point you in the right direction regarding other health-related questions and inquiries. You can always feel free to ask us any question that you may have, and we’ll do our best to help.

If I have questions about my Rx - who do I talk to?

Our pharmacist will be more than happy to answer any questions you have about your prescription. Whether it be in regard to how to take it, what the medication is for, what the side effects are and more, we’ve got knowledgeable and experienced staff ready to answers any questions you may have.

Do I need my Health Card to show I’m eligible for OHIP?

Yes, you always need your Health Card in order to show that you are entitled by the Ontario Government to services paid for by OHIP. You can check in with the Ontario Government website to see what is covered, however there are a wide range of services that The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care provides.

I lost my Health Card. What do I do?

In the case that you lose your Health Card, contact the Ontario Ministry of Health INFOline right away. They can be reached at 1-866-532-3161 from within Ontario, or 1-800-387-5559 outside of Ontario. If you have a photo-ID card, it will be replaced right away. If you still have the red and white card, you will need to apply for a new one.

About Our Services

Do I need an appointment for Meds-Check?

Although it is best to book an appointment in advance to participate in our Meds-Check program, you are also welcome to come in at any time to see one of our knowledgeable staff members. However, by booking in advance you give us the opportunity to more thoroughly check your prescriptions, and avoid longer waits.

Do I need an appointment for Smoking cessation?

Yes, an appointment for Smoking Cessation and support is necessary. We want to be able to get the right team member to work with you, and therefor need to allot a certain amount of time dedicated to only you and plan out how we can help you take this big step.

How long are the waiting periods?

At Islington Medical Pharmacy, we have done everything we can to ensure low wait times. That’s why we have programs such as our online Rx-Refill service. This enables you to refill prescriptions online so that they’re ready for you once you arrive at the pharmacy, eliminating wait time for you and others.

What is your address and hours of operation?

We’re conveniently located near Kipling GO station, and also easily accessible by other means of public transportation. We’re also very accessible if you’re driving, and parking can be found around the building. We’re open 9am – 7pm from Monday to Friday, 10am – 2pm on Saturdays and closed Sundays.
